Taking their cues from the glamour of Claridge’s in the 1920s and 1930s, the art deco bedrooms pair mellow tones with geometric lines and polished glass accents. While our collection of traditionally styled Superior King Rooms are a perfectly balanced blend of chic and comfortable.
Claridge’s has held a strong royal connection since the 1860s and it was during this time that Queen Victoria and her dear friend Empress Eugenie, wife of Napoleon III and Empress of France, visited Claridge’s. When The Empress set sail across the Channel to Claridge’s, her home away from home, her Mistress of Robes – The Duchess of Rivoli – was always by her side.
Our unique Superior King, the Duchess of Rivoli Room, echoes the traditional design and French flair of the Empress Eugenie Suite. The Duchess of Rivoli Room was inspired by the Duchess herself, along with the garments and jewelry that she chose for The Empress.

Prince Alexander Suite
It was here in 1945 that the exiled Yugoslavian royal family welcomed Crown Prince Alexander into the world. Winston Churchill even had home soil placed under the bed, and declared the room Yugoslavian territory – for just one day.
Today, the interiors reflect this illustrious history. Gold leaf accents, velvets and hand-embroidered silks set a palatial scene. French wall mouldings and features inspired by the Yugoslavian coat of arms sit alongside Victorian-era garlanded acanthus plasterwork. While the grand piano, restored dining table and personal butler are the jewels in the crown in a suite that’s made for entertaining.

While curated artwork is inspired both by her own collections and most recent collaboration with Claridge’s – the Tree of Love, from Christmas 2018.

The Mews Terrace
The art deco language of Claridge’s is written into the Mews Terrace – from the rich materials and flowing architectural lines to hand-picked antiques. With a terrace that has the capital’s legendary landmarks in every direction, this is a suite with a true sense of place.
Each detail tells a story from the polished burr veneer and bespoke joinery which carry through from lobby to dining room to the Murano pendant suspended above the mahogany dining table, designed for entertaining. Fireplaces in the living area and master bedroom bear the Claridge’s insignia on custom inlays while striking rugs inspired by Christian Berard introduce a dash of theatre, and Italian glass lamps illuminate the way.

The Residence
The history of Claridge’s is reimagined at The Residence – an exquisite, two-tier glasshouse with two beautifully appointed bedrooms. Drawing on fluid, Deco-inspired details, acclaimed designer André Fu has crafted the definitive sky sanctuary in the heart of Mayfair.
Step through the timber-panelled entryway and into a sense-awakening space of light and air. Floor-to-ceiling windows wrap The Residence in panoramic views of London’s iconic skyline, while an expansive terrace and crescent-shaped hydrotherapy pool appear to hover above the horizon.
Inside, André Fu’s clean, contemporary aesthetic is perfectly punctuated by nods to the hotel’s heritage. Hand-crafted mouldings, stained glass and antique brass details bring authentic depth to each considered space – from the dining room, complete with sculptural bar, through the open living area and up the ribbon-like spiral staircase, to the private guest bedroom.
