Day 1: Arrive Sao Miguel
Upon arrival to the Ponta Delgada Airport take a private transfer to your hotel. Discover this historic city by foot with its Baroque buildings and monuments dating from the 16th century. A highlight of the city is the Jardim Antonio Borges, a public botanical garden, built in the 19th century. Admire the hundreds of exotic species introduced to the island. Then, continue to the Mercado da Graca, a local market where local products are on display and sold.

Day 2: Sete Cidades Full Day HikeAfter breakfast, your hike begins vicinity of Muro das Nove Janelas, 15km from Ponta Delgada, a stone aqueduct formerly used to supply water to public fountains in the city. Along this path, it is possible to observe the Green and Blue Lagoons, a natural wonder of Portugal, as well as the expansive views of the north and south coasts of Sao Miguel, including several species of endemic flora. The trail ends in the center of Sete Cidades parish. Sete Cidades or 'Seven Cities' is a small town surrounded by lakes, lagoons and craters offering spectacular viewpoints. Return back to Ponta Delgada.

Day 3: Furnas Full Day HikeBegin your day in charming Vila Franca do Campo, the island's first capital, where you'll admire the picturesque islet and may choose to visit the Queijada do Morgado factory to taste its famous traditional pastries. The journey continues to magical Furnas, where a scenic walk along Lagoa das Furnas reveals lush landscapes and unique endemic flora. At Parque dos Cozidos, discover the fascinating volcanic cooking method behind the island's iconic Furnas stew, followed by lunch in a welcoming local restaurant. In the afternoon, unwind at the beautiful Terra Nostra Park, with time to soak in its warm thermal pool, before visiting the renowned Gorreana tea plantations and factory along the island's stunning north coast.

Day 4: Faial da Terra - Sanguinho - Salto do Prego Half-Day HikeToday, you will take a small circular hiking route starting from the Faial da Terra bus stop. The trail continues along a dirt track, always referring to the Faial da Terra stream, on the right. After 2.5 km, continue towards Salto do Prego, one of the most beautiful waterfalls on the island where you can also bathe in the cold waters of Ribeira do Faial da Terra. Along the trail, the vegetation is dense, with a variety of species. After a refreshing bath, follow the path towards Sanguinho, a picturesque village located in the middle of the vegetation. Then, the return to the Parish of Faial da Terra and return back to Ponta Delgada.

Day 5: Lagoa do Fogo Hike (Morning) or Quinta da Jardinete WineryToday you may choose between two half-day tours, a hike, or a wine tasting!
Option 1: Lagoa do Fogo Hike (Morning)
Begin with a scenic drive to Pico da Barrosa, one of São Miguel's highest points, offering panoramic views across the island. From a viewpoint overlooking Lagoa do Fogo, you'll hike down to the lagoon along natural trails. The descent can be challenging, so proper footwear and caution in slippery areas are advised. After reaching the lake's edge, the tour continues to the historic center of Ribeira Grande, where you'll visit a traditional liquor factory and sample locally crafted fruit liqueurs. The tour ends with a return to Ponta Delgada.
Option 2: Quinta da Jardinete Winery (Afternoon) (additional fee)
Visit a family-owned boutique winery producing classic volcanic-soil wines. Learn about vineyard management, explore the cellar, discover how grapes become wine, and enjoy a wine tasting.
