G Adventures

OFFER ID 1688006

Active Galápagos & Machu Picchu
Active travelers looking to combine the stunning wildlife of the Galápagos Islands with the deep history of Peru’s Inca Trail should explore this incredible 17-day adventure. Stay onshore while visiting lesser-visited islands and spending your days with playful sea lions, majestic manta rays, and the famous Galápagos tortoise. Then, head to Peru and take on the iconic 4-day Inca Trail trek to Machu Picchu, surrounded by mountainscapes, cloud forests, and jungle views. This is a journey that will inspire and impress at every turn.

Highlights
Encounter the magnificent wildlife of the Galapagos Island and swim with sea turtles and manta rays, Cycle on Isabela Island, Hike the Sierra Negro Volcano, Visit the Charles Darwin Research Station, Sample seafood in Lima, Soak in the views and culture of the Sacred Valley, Conque the mighty Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, Learn ancient traditions at the G Adventures-supported women's weaving co-op

Accomodation
Please note that hot water shortages and power outages can be fairly common in Peru (even in upgraded hotels and private homes). We appreciate your patience and understanding that these occurrences are outside of our control. 3 Nights Camping If your trip includes the Inca Trail or Lares Trek, we use three-person tents to accommodate two travellers, leaving room for your sleeping mats and sleeping bags (not provided, but available for rent). There are a few places along the trail with permanent (very basic) toilet facilities and we also set up private toilet tents for the use of G travellers.

Group Leader
All G Adventures group trips are accompanied by one of our Chief Experience Officer's (CEO). The aim of the CEO is to take the hassle out of your travels and to help you have the best trip possible. They will provide information on the places you are traveling through, offer suggestions for things to do and see, recommend great local eating venues and introduce you to our local friends. While not being guides in the traditional sense you can expect them to have a broad general knowledge of the countries visited on the trip, including historical, cultural, religious and social aspects. We also use local guides where we think more specific knowledge will add to the enjoyment of the places we are visiting- we think it's the best of both worlds.
